Destination to get closer to the Golden Ball

Are you still involved with football?

Of course. Football is my passion. Currently, I am a commentator for radio station Europe 1, but I do not rule out the possibility of coaching a football team if I see fit.

Are you surprised by Mbappe’s breakup announcement?

A little bit, especially because of the commitment he made to his club not long ago.

Mbappe always wants to win the Golden Ball

Mbappe always wants to win the Golden Ball

Do you think this is the right decision?

This is a personal decision and must be respected. That’s what he wanted.

Is Real the best destination for Mbappe?

That seems obvious. Real Madrid is the ideal place because of the greatness and history of the club. That’s really what Kylian was looking for. Joining a club like this will help his personal image grow even more.

Does that help Mbappe get closer to the Golden Ball?

There is no doubt that by winning important titles at international level and standing out in a team of Real’s caliber, he will have more opportunities. That’s why he decided to change.

PSG will have to change after losing Mbappe

Has Mbappe’s form declined towards the end of this season?

In the matches against Barca and Dortmund, he was not in his usual form. Of course, the entire PSG team performed poorly, not just Kylian.

Does it make sense for Luis Enrique not to use Mbappe too much after knowing he was leaving?

In a way, yes. Luis Enrique is already thinking about next season without Kylian. In Ligue 1, PSG still easily dominates without him. But in the Champions League, they still need such a classy striker.

Mbappe's departure will cause many changes for PSG

Mbappe’s farewell to PSG home field seems quite sad, right?

After 7 seasons of shining and becoming an idol, the last match at Parc des Princes ended in failure even though there were many fans cheering. It won’t be a good memory for him.

How can PSG fill the void left by Mbappe?

PSG knows that it will be difficult to replace a player of Mbappe’s caliber. Surely the team will have to change the way they play to not depend too much on one star.

Mbappe is like Ronaldo

Is Mbappe the best player in the world today?

He is one of the best. There are others like Haaland or Bellingham who are also very high level. Mbappe wants to follow in the footsteps of Messi and Ronaldo, who have dominated football in recent years. And he has the qualifications to do it. In terms of playing style, he is more like Ronaldo.

With Mbappe, Vinicius, Bellingham and Rodrygo, how will Real play?

There needs to be balance. That is what Ancelotti must look for. And he has the ability and experience to do it. Mbappe had negative experiences playing with big stars alongside him, such as Messi and Neymar. The test did not go well. In Madrid, he will be surrounded by very talented players. Mbappe is smart enough to know that it is important to know how to complement each other well because football is a team sport. He will need some adjustment period, but I think he will adapt quickly.

What do you think about the development of Camavinga and Tchouameni?

They are two talented young players with great ambitions. They took a big step forward by signing with a club like Real Madrid and learning from the talented teammates around them. With patience and effort, I think they will improve even more in the future.

Which team do you think will win the Champions League this year?

Without a doubt, it is definitely Real Madrid. Dortmund eliminated Atletico and PSG. But it is still difficult for them to compare with Real in terms of history, achievements, what they impose on all opponents, competitiveness, championship relationship with this tournament,… It will not be easy, But Real is superior.

Who is Alain Giresse?

Alain Giresse was 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 in Langoiran, France in 1952. He, along with Michel Platini, Jean Tigana and Luis Fernández, formed one of the best midfield quartets in European football history. They won French football’s first major title, the EURO 1984 championship, after defeating Spain in the final. Despite only having a modest height of 1m63, Giresse still succeeds on the field thanks to his natural technical ability. He is a legend of Bordeaux when he helped the team win Ligue 1 twice and the French National Cup once. After retiring, Giresse worked as a coach for 28 years. Among the teams he has led include PSG and 6 national teams. From June 2023 until now, he has not worked for any team.
