After Game 3 of the 2018 Finals, Nick Young claims that Stephen Curry sobbed because he realized he had lost to Kevin Durant for Finals MVP

Nick Young says Stephen Curry cried after Game 3 of the 2018 NBA Finals between the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers because he knew he lost the Finals MVP Award to Kevin Durant.

The Warriors beat the Cavaliers by eight points in Game 3 to take a 3-0 lead. Curry finished with 11 points while shooting 3-of-16 from the field, while Durant had 43 points on 15-of-23 shooting.

The Warriors won back-to-back titles in 2017 and 2018 over the Cavaliers. Durant won both Finals MVP awards.

Curry won his lone Finals MVP Award in 2022 after the Warriors beat the Boston Celtics.

Durant and Curry are two of the greatest players in NBA history. They have combined to win three MVPs, six championships, and three Finals MVPs.

The Warriors went to three straight NBA Finals during the Durant-Curry era.

Golden State lost the 2019 NBA Finals to the Toronto Raptors. Durant only played in Game 5 due to a leg injury. He tore his Achilles tendon in Game 5 and missed the entire 2019-20 season with the Brooklyn Nets.

Durant has only won two playoff series since leaving the Warriors. He’s been swept twice in the first round.

Curry and the Warriors had a magical playoff run in 2022, winning it all, but they have struggled since then. Golden State lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round of the 2023 playoffs and missed the postseason this year.

Durant and Curry will be in the Hall of Fame one day. The two champions will be teammates again this summer during the Olympics.

Team USA’s roster is made up of Durant, Curry, LeBron James, Bam Adebayo, Devin Booker, Anthony Davis, Anthony Edwards, Joel Embiid, Tyrese Haliburton, Jrue Holiday, Kawhi Leonard and Jayson Tatum.

This is the first time that LeBron, Curry and Durant will play in the Olympics together.
