The 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥’s name is Techno Mechanicus, nicknamed Tau, but gender and age are not mentioned. According to the Cambridge dictionary, techno is the name of a genre of electronic music that has a fast tempo and steady rhythm and is also used to refer to people who are passionate about technology. According to World Of Dictionary, mechanicus can come from Greek and means mechanic.

Musk still maintains the habit of naming his 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren with terms related to machinery and science. However, the couple has not specifically explained the 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥’s name.

In May 2020, Musk sparked curiosity when he named his son X Æ A-12. Because California state law does not allow names to have numbers, he had to change A-12 to A-Xii. In a post on Twitter, Grimes explained that X means “an unknown variable”, Æ stands for Grimes and A-12 is Musk’s favorite jet.
