She was in critical condition and unable to stand or walk when they eventually located her. Her owners relinquished her to a rescue organization because they couldn’t provide the care she required.

The rescue team could tell Brighe was healthy because she hadn’t been wandering around by herself for a while. Someone with the necessary s𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁s had purposefully starved her. Her refeeding must be done agonizingly slowly in order to prevent organ failure. However, Brighe fought bravely, and after spending several days in the hospital, she was able to feed herself.

With each new day, Brighe advanced. She put on weight and began to walk by herself. Brighe’s foster family provided her all the love and care she required to recover, and over time, her lovely personality and forgiving spirit started to emerge.

The day Brighe had been looking forward to—the day she could return home—then arrived. She settled very well, engaging in play with the toys and eating every four hours. Her development was nothing short of astonishing, and she rapidly started going for daily walks and practicing good leash manners.
