The reaction of iShowSpeed to Lionel Messi winning the Ballon d’Or is exactly what you’d expect

Lionel Messi’s record-extending ninth Ballon d’Or title elicited the expected reaction from iShowSpeed.

The social media sensation was invited to the awards ceremony in Paris and videotaped himself throughout.

Before the event began, he spoke with Erling Haaland and others.

The American spoke briefly with Argentina custodian Emiliano Martinez and dared to question him if he thought Cristiano Ronaldo or his international teammate Lionel Messi was the better player.

He even met tennis legend Novak Djokovic, who tried to get Speed to join AC Milan.

Speed sat in the main hall during the awards event, turning on the camera as Manchester United icon David Beckham announced the winner.

Prior to the announcement, the Ronaldo superfan could be seen repeatedly mouthing ‘Ronaldo’ while putting both hands to his ears.

When Messi’s name was read out, he looked shocked, and an emotional Speed exclaimed, “What??”

After barking at the television, he turned the camera to Messi and yelled, “Messi, guy. There’s no way, man. “Why not Ronaldo?”

Messi had a memorable night, delivering a lengthy statement after receiving the prize from Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham. You may read all of his quotes here.

The Argentine finished ahead of Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe, with Kevin De Bruyne placing fourth.

Meanwhile, Aitana Bonmati of Barcelona won the women’s Ballon d’Or, beating out Sam Kerr, Salma Paralluelo, Fridolina Rolfo, and Mary Earps.

Despite missing out on the main men’s title, Haaland did won the Gerd Muller Trophy for Europe’s top striker.

Aston Villa goalkeeper Martinez won the Yashin Trophy for best men’s goalkeeper, while Jude Bellingham received the Kopa Trophy for best men’s young player.
