Former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce revealed his weight loss approach after retiring from the NFL.
After 13 seasons in the league, Kelce called it a career in March, a month after his brother Travis won the Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs.
While admitting he’s indulged in sweets recently, the soon-to-be NFL analyst shared how he got losing weight down to a science without following an overly-strict diet.
‘If feel good, the kids and I, and my wife Kylie, have been down the shore,’ Kelce told Access Hollywood at the 35th Annual American Century Championship. ‘So I’ve been eating a lot of ice cream and starting to go the opposite route again.’
‘But I’m still down, I’m probably [at the] low 280’s right now. My whole thing is calories in, calories out. I don’t overcomplicate it. I don’t get too extreme with diets in general.’

The former Philadelphia Eagles center admitted not following a strict diet to lose pounds
‘Eat something that’s natural, whether it be a plant, animal-based product, things like that, not processed [food]. And don’t eat too much. The weight kind of comes off naturally.’
After his retirement, Kelce vowed to lose 35lbs on an episode of the New Heights podcast. Nearly five months after the episode came out, the father of three appears to hold true to the plan he set out back then.
In the same episode, he shared the hobbies he planned to pick up after a long career in football.
‘I’m gonna slim down,’ Kelce said in March. ‘My goal is 250 [lbs]. This last week, I got down to 285 cause I knew I was doing this. And then I had cake for three days in a row.’

‘I don’t personally subscribe to doing extreme diets like going all the way vegan or all the way carnivore or keto,’ he continued.
‘My man Joe Thomas lost a bunch of weight [and] he’s all keto. And I’m like, ‘Dude more power to you,’ but f**k no, I’m not doing that. He looks fantastic, but it’s not worth, to me, doing that.
‘I downloaded MyFitnessPal and just started tracking calories. I feel like as long as I maintain my protein intake, so I keep my muscle and just kind of limit the calories, you’ll start to lose weight, that’s the plan.’
