Canada’s Paris Olympics basketball star sparks fury with LeBron James snub after feuding with NBA icon for months

NBA star Dillon Brooks appears to be throwing shade at LeBron James ahead of the Olympic Games.

The Canadian star snubbed Team USA rival LeBron when asked to name his top three toughest opponents to guard.

Brooks is part of a talented Canadian team that is arguably the USA’s biggest threat to gold in Paris.

Canada hopes to end a near-century wait for a men’s basketball medal, having won silver way back in 1936.

In a Q&A with the FIBA, the Houston Rockets star named Luka Doncic, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and teammate Andrew Nembhard as his toughest players to face.

Fans couldn’t help but notice LeBron – who has beef with Brooks going back to the 2023 NBA playoffs – was absent from the list.

“Where’s Bron?” asked one fan on X.

“Guess he forgot LeBron got him traded, for all the antics he did and LeBron destroyed him every time,” said another.

“Lebron, Lebron, Lebron…he just can’t admit,” commented a third.

“He can’t guard anyone,” laughed a fourth.

The pair’s feud began during a Memphis Grizzlies postseason series with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2023.

Brooks dubbed James “old” and claimed he “didn’t respect” the four-time champion.

Dillon was later ejected during Game 3 of the series after hitting LeBron in the groin.

“At the end of the day, I think my résumé and what I’ve done for this league speaks for itself,” James hit back following Brooks’ comments.

“I don’t really get caught up in any comments like that.”

James will be Team USA’s flag bearer at the Opening Ceremony in the French capital on Friday.

The oldest active player currently in the NBA, 39-year-old LeBron is also the league’s record points holder with 40,474.

Team USA is aiming to win a fifth straight Olympic gold in Paris, with LeBron heading to his first Games since 2012.

He already has three medals, winning bronze in 2004 before taking gold in 2008 and four years later in London.

Despite approaching his 40th 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡day, James continues to dominate and helped avoid USA’s blushes in warm-up games against South Sudan and Germany.

He recently penned a two-year extension with the Lakers worth $104 million.

The deal will see him play alongside his son Bronny, 19, a second-round pick in this year’s NBA Draft.
