Is Tiger Woods playing in the 2024 Wyndham Championship? Availability and schedule explored

Tiger Woods will not be playing at the 2024 Wyndham Championship. 156 players will feature in the 85th edition of the tournament but Woods’s name doesn’t appear in the field listed for the event. The event will be played from August 8 to 11 at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Sports Illustrated writer and author of ‘Drive: The Lasting Legacy of Tiger Woods’, Bob Harig revealed Tiger Woods’ schedule after the Open Championship 2024. Harig wrote on X:

“Tiger said he will not play again before the Hero in the Bahamas and then the ‘fifth major the PNC’.”

Therefore, Woods will not play in any competitive event until the 2024 Hero World Challenge at Albany Golf Course in Albany, New Providence, The Bahamas.

The event is scheduled from December 5 to 8. He will next play in the 2024 PNC Championship at Ritz-Carlton Golf Course in Orlando, Florida. The event is scheduled from December 20 to 22.

Who is in the field for the 2024 Wyndham Championship?

Brian Harman and Robert MacIntyre are the top OWGR-ranked players in the field listed for the Wyndham Championship. The other top-ranked players are Sungjae Im, Keegan Bradley Cameron Young, Akshay Bhatia and Shane Lowry.

Lucas Grover won the 2023 Wyndham Championship by two shots over Russell Henley. He won a prize money of $1,368,000 from the prize money of $7.6 million. The prize money of the 2024 Wyndham Championship has increased from $7.6 million to $7.9 million. The winner will take home $1,422,000 while the runner-up will win $861,100 at the competition.
