Singer Shakira stopped dancing and walked off the stage after seeing a front row audience member pointing a camera straight up her dress.
According to Dailymail , the incident happened while the Latin star was dancing on the LIV Miami stage to the melody of her new song Soltera . In the video, Shakira is seen giving a finger to the audience to signal not to do that, while she pulled down her skirt. The singer continued her performance, but only a moment later discovered that the camera was still pointed at her. She stopped, shook her head and walked off the stage.
The video of the incident was shared on X, attracting more than 16 million views and countless comments. Many fans supported Shakira’s actions, condemning the audience member whose harassment made the singer uncomfortable and forced her to leave the show.
“That’s rude. Shakira has the right to walk away, no one should have to deal with disrespect like that, especially when she’s performing. People need to learn some manners!” one person wrote. Another added: “Artists deserve respect, both on and off stage. It’s important to ensure a safe environment for everyone.”
However, some people believe that the audience member probably did not mean to offend Shakira, simply because they were standing too close to the singer and her dress was too short. “They were just filming her performance. They would have done the same thing if she was wearing a spacesuit. It’s not their fault that Shakira wore that suit to dance on a high platform,” one person explained.
Shakira’s representative has not yet responded to the incident. The singer is currently promoting her new song Soltera in Miami, Florida. She also filmed a music video with Anitta, according to Marca .
