GloRilla surprisingly went with Stephen Curry over Damian Lillard despite flirting with him just some months ago.
Rapper and songwriter GloRilla was at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas for the 2024 NBA Cup Final between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Oklahoma City Thunder. At one point in the night, GloRilla played a game of “This or That” with Yahoo Sports, where she surprisingly picked Stephen Curry over Damian Lillard.
Q: “Allen Iverson or Magic Johnson?”
GloRilla: “Magic Johnson.”
Q: “Magic Johnson or Stephen Curry?”
GloRilla: “Stephen Curry.”
Q: “Alright, Stephen Curry or Dame Lillard?
GloRilla: “Oh my god. Steph Curry.”
Q: “Steph Curry or (Kevin Durant)?”
GloRilla: “Steph Curry.”
Q: “Steph Curry or Kobe (Bryant)?”
GloRilla: “Kobe.”
Q: “Kobe or (Michael) Jordan?”
GloRilla: “Kobe.”
GloRilla certainly hesitated a bit when it came to picking between Curry and Lillard. She ultimately did make the right pick, though, as the Golden State Warriors superstar is certainly the better player.
Lillard did manage to accomplish something on Tuesday that Curry hasn’t thus far, which is winning the NBA Cup. He recorded 23 points (6-12 FG), four rebounds, four assists, and a steal as the Bucks won 97-81 to get their hands on the title. GloRilla would have watched the action unfold first-hand and would have been impressed by what she saw.
GloRilla’s presence in Las Vegas at this game did raise eyebrows considering her history with Lillard. In case you missed it, here’s a brief recap.
GloRilla and Lillard seemingly crossed paths for the first time at the 2024 All-Star Game in Indianapolis. The Bucks star was named All-Star Game MVP but that wasn’t why he ended up going viral that night. That happened because GloRilla shot her shot with Lillard after the game. She posted a picture of them together on X with an interesting caption.
“Who n***a dis? Cause I want him #GetEmGlo.”
GloRilla then followed it up by stating that she’d whoop whatever competition was standing in her way.
“Whoever she is can’t whoop me so I really dgaf.”
Well, GloRilla would have faced stiff competition from Kay’La Hanson at one point, as she married Lillard in 2021. The couple divorced this year, though, so the Bucks star might actually be there for the taking. Lillard was asked about GloRilla shooting her shot with him back on media day and stated nothing was going on between them.
“I’m weak. That is hilarious,” Lillard said. “Nah, I keep my personal life personal, you know? And I let it be that. I respect her as an artist. We know each other, she’s an artist, I’m an artist. But as far as anything else, it ain’t nothing going on. That’s what I can tell you.”
Things could have changed by now, of course, but with Lillard preferring to keep his personal life under wraps, he certainly won’t be talking on this subject. What he would be willing to talk about is basketball.
The 14-11 Bucks are now thriving after a slow start to the season, having gone 13-3 in their last 16 games. They will be in search of another win when they take on the 23-4 Cleveland Cavaliers next at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse on Friday at 7:30 PM ET.
