“It’s just not me in a fatsuit”: Mike Tyson Was the Reason Behind Keanu Reeve’s Intense John Wick Fight Scene

During his prime, boxing legend Mike Tyson embodied all that a heavyweight boxer should be. Even while the former champion wasn’t the largest in his division, he was unquestionably the most talented. He exploited his diminutive stature to outrun his opponents and his strength and agility to destroy any guy put in his path. For this reason, many fighters who are shorter than him view his fighting style as a model for their own success.

Scott Adkins

The English actor and stunt performer Scott Adkins recently discussed how Mike Tyson served as an inspiration for his fight sequences in John Wick: Chapter 4.

Scott Adkins Reveals How Mike Tyson Influenced Him

Scott Adkins, a martial artist, and actor, played the German crime boss known as “Killa Harkan” in the thrilling world of John Wick: Chapter 4. His combat style distinguishes him as a character. Adkins sought inspiration from none other than “Iron” Mike Tyson for this, paying respect and modeling his character after his fighting style.

He wanted to demonstrate that Killa Harkan had previously been a deadly assassin and that he had evolved a special fighting technique that was both aggressive and effective. Adkins revealed that he had spent a lot of time studying Mike Tyson’s fighting technique since he had always admired it.

Adkins also revealed that playing Killa Harkan required him to put on a 100-pound fat suit, which was a first for him. The character’s terrifying presence was increased by the costume, which gave him a larger-than-life appearance.

One of the hardest scenes to shoot in the film was the combat scene between Killa Harkan and John Wick. A nightclub in Berlin served as the setting, and there were hundreds of extras and moving water.

But Adkins’ approach to the action sequences, where he adopted ‘Iron‘ Mike Tyson’s style as a model, was impacted by the heavy prosthetics and the weight of the fat suit.

“It’s not just me in a fat suit. We wanted to sell that this guy is heavy and it is hard for him to move around. Yet in his past life, he used to be this deadly assassin himself and he knows how to throw down. So we came up with a kind of Mike Tyson style to the way he fights, but he can still bring it out when it counts. We didn’t want to do a load of triple kicks and everything,” he said.

The creative homage to Tyson’s combat prowess has surely contributed to the franchise’s amazing popularity as it has continued to attract spectators around the world.

Scott Adkins’ Performance In John Wick: Chapter 4

The movie has had enormous success at the box office, grossing more than $400 million globally. The film’s captivating combat scenes, clever plotting, and stellar cast performances, notably Adkins’ portrayal of the terrifying criminal lord, have captured audiences’ attention.

In one of the movie’s most famous sequences, The Expendables star Scott Adkins plays the German crime lord Killa, who can still give Wick a beating.

Adkins sees himself first and foremost as a character actor and performer, and it’s possible that he would rather be recognized as a top martial artist actor than as an action hero who can also act.

To sum up, one of the best parts of John Wick: Chapter 4 was Scott Adkins’ performance. His distinctive fighting technique, which was influenced by Mike Tyson, gave Killa Harkan a new dimension and intensified the combat scenes. Adkins’ devotion to the part and s𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁 as a performer is demonstrated by his commitment to his trade and his readiness to take on new challenges.
