The Mahomes family endured a disappointing night in New Orleans.
The Kansas City Chiefs headed down to New Orleans filled with confidence and expectation that they would be the first team in NFL history to win the Super Bowl in three successive seasons. But the Philadelphia Eagles destroyed those dreams in a 40-22 win at the Caesars Superdome, in a Super Bowl that was not nearly as close as the final score may indicate.
Patrick Mahomes endured one of the toughest games of his eight-year career, as the three-time Super Bowl MVP could not drag the Chiefs back from a 34-0 deficit in the third quarter. Not only has Patrick come under scrutiny for his performance, but his wife Brittany is also facing backlash of a distinctly different kind following Super Bowl LIX.
Brittany touts her outfit as Chiefs suffer humiliating loss
Sometimes, there can be a certain danger in scheduling a social media post during a huge event, especially one as popular as the Super Bowl. Brittany Mahomes found that out first-hand on Sunday, when a collage of photos showing off her Caesars Superdome look to Instagram drew significant backlash and forced her eventually to limit comments on the post.
Brittany, who showed off a $73,000 diamond necklace as the crown of an all-white look that mirrored the Chiefs’ white uniforms, was subjected to bewilderment over how she could post her outfit as Kansas City faced a 24-0 halftime deficit. Commenters on Instagram called her ”self-absorbed”, while others called out Patrick’s poor performance against Philadelphia in stark contrast to what ”appeared” to be Brittany’s ”priority”.
The 2024 season brought unique challenges for Brittany Mahomes. She became a mother for the third time after giving 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡 to daughter Golden Raye last month, but she drew heavy criticism for her endorsement of President Donald Trump before his victory in November’s election. Perhaps she will be pleased that the chaotic football season is over, though she is no doubt upset that the Chiefs struggled mightily against the Eagles and lost their shot at a three-peat.
