In a poignant tribute, we remember 35 iconic stars from the film, celebrating their incredible performances and enduring legacies.

Among them is Richard Conte, who portrayed the calculating Don Emilio Barzini. He joined the film at the age of 61 and sadly passed away on April 15, 1975, from a heart attack. Marlon Brando, the film’s legendary patriarch Don Vito Corleone, left us on July 1, 2004, at 80, due to respiratory failure. His portrayal of the cunning crime boss solidified his status as one of Hollywood’s greatest actors.

Richard S. Castellano, who brought warmth to the character of Peter Clemenza, died at the age of 55 in 1988 from a heart attack. Al Martino, the beloved Johnny Fontaine, passed away in 2009 at 82. John Marley, who played the arrogant producer Jack Woltz, died in 1984 at 76 after complications from heart surgery.

The film also featured a range of unforgettable supporting characters, including Sterling Hayden as Captain McCluskey and Lenny Montana as Luca Brasi, both of whom succumbed to health issues later in life.
