LeBron James Believes Kyrie Irving Is The Best Player Ever With The Ball In His Hands

Point guard Kyrie Irving is a wizard with the basketball, with his ballhandling ability getting him many fans around the world. It’s not just about the handles either: every movement has a purpose, and his shot creation ability in isolation is otherworldly.

There are many people who believe that Kyrie Irving is the most s𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁ed point guard of all time. His former teammate LeBron James took it a step further, claiming that Kyrie Irving is the best player ever when the ball is in his hands.

Jerry West Believes Kobe Bryant Was More Advanced Than Victor Wembanyama At 19 Years Old

There is no doubt that this take from LeBron James will be a hot take to many fans. There are a lot of players that are impactful with the ball in their hands, and most people wouldn’t even say that Kyrie Irving is the best on-ball player in the league today. With that being said, Kyrie Irving’s s𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁 level is clearly off the charts, and LeBron James respects his former teammate’s ability.

During the 2022-23 regular season, Kyrie Irving averaged 27.1 PPG, 5.1 RPG, and 5.3 APG while shooting 37.9% from beyond the arc. He is still an All-NBA talent, and we’ll see how impactful he is with the Mavericks next year.

LeBron James Still Wants To Play With Kyrie Irving In The Future

LeBron James definitely has a high opinion of Kyrie Irving even now, and it seems as though he wants to team up with the guard in the future. A recent report revealed that James is willing to play with Irving in the future.

“I will say this. I do think LeBron has an interest in playing with Kyrie Irving again,” Windhorst said. “I think he likes the idea of playing with Kyrie, the concept of playing with Kyrie and Anthony Davis. I have long said the best big-man pairing that LeBron’s ever had, as far as pure fit, is Anthony Davis. I believe the best guard pairing LeBron’s ever had is Kyrie Irving.”

We will see whether a reunion between LeBron James and Kyrie Irving happens in the future. The Lakers opted against pursuing the star in free agency this year, but perhaps they can land him via trade at some point later on.
