Netflix Paid Gal Gadot 4X Less for Her Own Solo Film Than What She Made as a Co-Lead in a $200M Film Ryan Reynolds and Dwayne Johnson movie

Thanks to roles in the Fast & Furious franchise and the DC Universe, Gal Gadot became one of the most popular names in the entertainment industry. Recently the actress was seen in her newest project, Netflix’s Heart of Stone where she played the role of Rachel Stone.

Directed by Tom Harper, the film also stars Fifty Shades of Grey actor Jamie Dornan and Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt. You might find it interesting to know that while Gal Gadot stars as the main lead in the film, she was paid significantly less than what she made while she was a co-lead in her film with Ryan Reynolds and Dwayne Johnson.

How Much Was Gal Gadot Paid For Heart of Stone?

Heart of Stone was released on the platform on August 11, 2023, and for the first week, the film held the top spot on the English-language list with 33.1 million views. Unfortunately, the film failed to woo the audience and the critics. It holds a low Rotten Tomatoes score of 29% and the audience score isn’t much better either; 54%.

According to the critical consensus, the film has “thinly written characters, generic plot, and rote set pieces,” which even an “entertaining action star” of Gal Gadot’s caliber couldn’t save.

Turning the attention to Gadot’s salary for Heart of Stone, the actress took home a massive cheque of $5 million, according to some reports. The amount is much higher than what her co-stars, Jamie Dornan and Alia Bhatt made; $1.5 million and $500,000 respectively.

Talking about why she was so excited to be a part of Heart of Stone, which she is also a producer of, Gadot told Entertainment Weekly,

“I really wanted to tell a story of a real person that goes through a crazy journey and is told from a female perspective. That was something that excited me, that I wanted to show, that I felt like I hadn’t seen enough.”

While the film unfortunately failed to impress the critics, it can still be considered a one-time, entertaining watch.

While Gadot’s salary in Heart of Stone was significantly more than what her co-stars made, it was also a lot less than what she took home for yet another Netflix film, Red Notice. This is despite the fact that she shared the lead role with both Ryan Reynolds and Dwayne Johnson.

Gadot, Reynolds, and Johnson, all made a whopping amount of $20 million for their roles as The Bishop, Nolan Booth, and John Hartley, respectively. This means that the Ralph Breaks the Internet actress made four times as much as she made in Heart of Stone, her very own film. Given the fact that Red Notice was made on a budget of $200 million, the salaries seem to be quite fitting for stars of their stature.

Gadot’s $20 million salary is also higher than the $10 million salary that she took home in Wonder Woman 1984.

You can stream both Red Notice and Heart of Stone on Netflix.
