Kylian Mbappé registered a goal off a penalty kick in Paris Saint-Germain’s 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday at the Parc des Princes. Furthermore, this strike put the 24-year-old in an interesting statistical category.
The Twitter account StatsKMbappe pointed out that with this goal, Mbappé holds the record in the 21st century for consecutive matches, being decisive at least once per match.
Furthermore, the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner surpasses Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, whose stat was 15 games. The Frenchman is now 16 games in and shares the record with his former teammate Neymar Jr. and FC Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski.

Mbappé is off to a hot start this 2023-24 season as the rumors regarding his uncertain future don’t seem to phase the performance on the pitch. Nonetheless, expect the Real Madrid chatter to pick up as the January transfer window nears.
The question that many will ask is whether the winger will decide to leave or extend his stay again at PSG and be part of this project with him at the center of it.
