Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden have just added another property to their portfolio, purchasing an AU$18 million estate in Montecito, California. The actress and Good Charlotte rockstar, who bought a similarly priced mansion in Beverly Hills two years ago, exhibit a taste for high ceilings, natural light and contemporary finishes across their various homes; their latest purchase, a Mediterranean-style villa inspired by the architecture along Lake Como, falls in the same interior vein.
The estate, which spreads over 1.75 acres of land, spans 11,000 square feet. Six en-suite bedrooms and seven full-sized bathrooms join an open-plan kitchen and living area, as well as a host of amenities, including an at-home cinema and a spa room. At the entrance, guests are greeted by the curve of a staircase in the double-height foyer, wrapping around a skylight and black chandelier.
Further inside, a green-walled study space leads out onto a balcony with stone balustrades—a chateau-style European touch that accompanies the estate’s bedrooms as well. Upstairs, an outdoors area offers panoramic views of the ocean and natural surrounds. The landscaping around the mansion is equally impressive; highlights include a man-made waterfall, stone walls, hedges and a private herb garden.
