Exceptional 10-year-old boy wins full-ride scholarship to US university, set to earn bachelor and masters degrees in Computer Science

An exceptional 10-year-old boy named David Balogun has won a full-ride scholarship covering both his bachelors and masters degree. He also set record as the youngest student in Southern New Hampshire University, United States.

David Balogun got admitted into Southern New Hampshire University, United States after he passed his high school with an excellent grade point average of 4.00.

David had earlier made history in February 2023 when he became one of the youngest students known to graduate high school in the United States. He enrolled into Southern New Hampshire University immediately after he graduated high school.

He is currently studying computer science and IT at the University at no expense, as he has received a full-tuition scholarship for both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees.

“I love to learn, If a person is saying that my parents are pushing me too hard, I would type in two words if I had to respond to them, ‘meet me’,” David said.

The President of Southern New Hampshire University, Paul LeBlanc said they are delighted to have David in their university describing him as a 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥 with bright potentials and amazing personality.

“We are thrilled to welcome David to the diverse SNHU community. David is an amazing young man filled with so much personality. We are dedicated to ensuring that he receives an education that aligns with his remarkable abilities and empowers him to reach his full potential,” Paul Leblanc said.

David’s mother, Ronya Balogun mentioned that  selecting the right school for their son was a challenge for them due to him being young and extremely intelligent. She added that though they want to see their son excel, they feared having him attend classes on campus with peers who would be twice his age.

“David is learning based on his capabilities, It’s his civil right. Not based on his age or not based on what the education system tells him, and I’m grateful that SNHU took this step to take a risk on my son, ” Ronya Balogun said.

David said he will be receiving his lectures from the comfort of his own home through the Southern New Hampshire University online program with the hope of earning his degree in 2025 at the age of 12.
