Dad bod season is officially in.
Patrick Mahomes defended the way his body looks after the NFL posted a video of him celebrating his team’s AFC Championship win while shirtless in the locker room.
“Yoooo why they have to do me like that!?!?!?#DadBodSZN,” the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback tweeted Wednesday.
“Like i got kids!!!! @Chiefs @insidetheNFL @NFL,” the 28-year-old athlete — who shares daughter Sterling, 3, and son Bronze, 1, with wife Brittany Mahomes — wrote in a follow-up tweet.
In the clip, a shirtless Mahomes praised his team for doing such a “great job” during last week’s matchup against the Baltimore Ravens.
However, fans were stuck on the two-time Super Bowl champion’s physique.
“Patrick Mahomes is a world class athlete and he has a beer gut,” wrote one hater.
“Mahomes likes the Coors Lights,” added another.
“Mahomes body looking like that is surprising because of how surprised I am of how jacked baseball players look,” tweeted a third user.
A fourth fan said Patrick’s stomach looked “bloated, inflamed & fat.”
Other social media users defended the NFL star from the backlash.
“Look @PatrickMahomes – most of us women are absolutely IN LOVE WITH AND PREFER a Dad Bod. You’re doing just fine, Goat,” wrote one supporter.
“You and @JasonKelce doing more for dad bods than anyone in history. Doing the lord’s work,” added another.
“Anyone who is making fun of this picture of @PatrickMahomes needs to touch grass. He’s a father! You want to call some fat come at me!” tweeted a third fan.Despite the criticism, Patrick is gearing up alongside his teammates — including Travis Kelce — to face off against the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas on Feb. 11.Sure to be by his side will be his wife, Brittany, also 28, and their daughter and son, whom they welcomed in February 2021 and November 2022, respectively.
