Man United plot move to sign Bayer Leverkusen raid! Red Devils monitoring Jeremie Frimpong & Edmond Tapsoba to boost Erik
Manchester United are eyeing a move for Bayer Leverkusen duo Jeremie Frimpong and Edmond Tapsoba to bolster their defence.
According to the Manchester Evening News, the Red Devils intend to recruit their defense pair of Tapsoba and Frimpong in the summer of 2024, which will involve a double raid of Bayer Leverkusen.
The club recently extended the contracts of both defenders, which expire in June 2028.
The Red Devils were said to be interested in right full-back Frimpong last summer, but they decided against making a formal proposal when Diego Dalot agreed to sign a new contract and Aaron Wan-Bissaka started to perform better halfway through the 2022–2023 season.
With speculations regarding Raphael Varane’s future at the club beyond the current season, the club are looking for a new central defender with Tapsoba one of the key candidates on their shortlist.
In their recent rout of Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, Tapsoba featured in Xabi Alonso’s starting lineup while Frimpong came from the bench to score a late goal to complete a convincing 3-0 win.
With back-to-back wins over West Ham and Aston Villa, a confident United side will next take on Luton Town in the Premier League on Sunday
