There are perfectly good celebrity-style moments, and then there are the looks that really stick with you, the ones you try desperately to recreate at home. In ‘Great Outfits in Fashion History,’ Fashionista editors are revisiting their all-time favorite lewks.
I’m sat for Anne Hathaway’s ongoing sartorial renaissance (literally no notes on her “The Idea of You” press run), but anyone who’s been a devoted fan since her “The Princess Diaries” days knows she’s always been a certified fashion girlie. She proved this much at the 2004 Vanity Fair Oscar Party in a bold orange silk Dolce & Gabanna gown featuring a multicolored Ikebana floral print and a back slit. A matching gold clutch, pointed-toe pumps, and a dainty drop necklace completed the look.
Hathaway’s glam was as bold as her outfit: Bright red lipstick, rosy pink blush, and dark eyeliner, framed by her voluminous curls.

“I accidentally got really, really wasted. I thought this Dolce & Gabbana dress would look really nice with Old Hollywood, Veronica Lake waves…and this is what I got,” she told Allure of the look. “The dress, though, was spectacular. It’s not the dress’s fault.”
