Chrissy Teigen can always count on husband John Legend to craft a tasty meal.

In an exclusive conversation with PEOPLE about how her Cravings by Chrissy Teigen company is taking part in Amazon’s Prime Day, the model and cookbook author, 38, also opens up about how her musician beau has become a pro in the kitchen recently.

“John is doing a lot of the cooking lately. Actually, I say lately, but for the past year, he’s really stepped it up,” Teigen says of Legend, 45. “He loves putting on one of his podcasts … and just cooking in the kitchen.”

“He’s really become quite the chef lately,” adds the mother of four — who shares daughters Luna Simone and Esti Maxine, plus sons Miles Theodore and Wren Alexander — with her husband.

As for what she and Legend like to cook, Teigen explains: “We have our staple recipes that we make a few times a week in the house.”

One of them involves cooking a whole Branzino. “We love it so much, because it’s so easy,” she says. “It’s like a thirty-minute recipe. We put it in the oven, we pop cherry tomatoes all around it, add broccoli, and it all gets done at the same time.

When Teigen is cooking for Legend, she tends to go for her short rib recipe with sweet potato mash.

“That, I think, is one of his favorites,” she says. “My onion soup is one of his favorites as well. So we love cooking for each other.”

On Tuesday, July 16, and Wednesday, July 17, Teigen and her brand will be taking part in Prime Day for the first time ever. (You can sign up now to get Prime Day prices ahead of the big sales.) “I’m a big lover of Amazon in general,” the star tells PEOPLE. “I pretty much live off of Amazon.”

Included in the Prime Day sale will be various items like the Heavenly Coconut Key Lime Cake Mix, Chrissy’s Ultimate Banana Bread Mix, the Chocolate Chunk Cookie Mix, the Buttermilk Mochi Pancake Waffle Mix and the Chili Sauce Duo. Teigen says that Legend is her company’s “biggest supporter” and first tester: “Nothing goes to the factory without him trying it first and approving it.”

So, naturally, he has a product named after him. (John’s Glorious Golden Cookie Mix is also part of the Prime Day sale.) “I wanted him to have something that he really, really loved, and John’s always been a big peanut butter lover,” says Teigen. “He’s very proud of his cookie.”
