Ice Spice addresses Nicki Minaj feud as she lands Rolling Stone cover ahead of Y2K album release: ‘I don’t give a sh** about hate because I won’

Ice Spice is Rolling Stone’s latest cover star, and inside the issue she addressed a range of topics including her purported Nicki Minaj feud, beef with Latto, and her upcoming debut album.

The 24-year-old Bronx native — who recently released a song with Central Cee called Did It First — told writer Jeff Ihaza: ‘When people ask me, “Oh, how do you deal with the hate?” I don’t give a sh** because I won, bro. I win at life.

‘I can only just be grateful for people talking sh**, for people supporting me. Everything that comes with the territory, I can only be grateful for.’

As for her relationship with fellow New York native Minaj, 41 — with whom she collaborated on the song Barbie World for last year’s Barbie movie soundtrack — Ice said: ‘We don’t have the closest relationship, you know? But we’re definitely good.’

It comes after earlier this year a former friend of Spice’s leaked messages in which she labeled the rapper ‘delusional’ and ‘ungrateful’ over frustrations regarding contract negotiations.

Ice, 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 Isis Gaston, elaborated, ‘We’re mutuals. We had smash records together. I love us together. I think the world does too.’

Turning her attention to the frenemy, she stated, ‘I think that the saddest part of the whole situation, it’s somebody I knew for so many years and called my friend, had me open up and be vulnerable with them, and then took complete advantage of that for her own benefit.

‘So that was the saddest part really, just feeling used, basically.’

Ice also mused about the Super Bass hitmaker, ‘She’s busy as hell. I don’t really think she cares about sh** like that coming from a random girl.’

She clarified, ‘But what I said in those texts was just in a moment of frustration around contract negotiations. I could have [chosen] different words.’

All in all, she praised Minaj as ‘somebody I respect as an artist.’

‘I’m always going to admire everything she’s done for me and the culture,’ she emphasized.

She had less kind words for rapper Latto, proclaiming about their friction: ‘I can understand a friendly competition, but I just feel like at this point it’s a joke that she’s just dragged out, and it’s just not even funny.’

She also noted that there is no real ‘issue’ between the two.

‘I feel like if we ever spoke and I asked her, ‘What’s the issue?’ It’d be like a blank stare. It’d really be no issue whatsoever. Especially from me,’ she said, implying that the beef is one-sided.

At the top of the year, Gaston released the song Think U The Sh*t, which quickly caught on, becoming a viral hit.

It was rumored to be directed at 25-year-old Latto, real name Alyssa Stephens.

In June, the Ohio-𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 Big Mama hitmaker shared a poop emoji cake to mark her headlining gig at Hot 107.9’s Birthday Bash concert in Atlanta.

It was accompanied by the caption, ‘Think I’m the shit, b*tch?????’

In her Rolling Stone interview, Ice responded: ‘Like, bro, Think U the Sh*t is from January. You’re going to post a piece of sh*tbcake to announce something that’s good news for you?’

On the other hand, she reflected, ‘But it is kind of a compliment because you’re taking something that’s supposed to be a fun moment for you and you’re making it about me…again.’

Isis announced her debut full-length project in late January, sharing the title with her millions of online followers.

‘I definitely wanted to branch out more and try different sounds, and it was also just really natural, too,’ she told RS about the release, which comes out Friday, July 26.

‘I’d get in the studio and just really say the first thing that comes to mind. A lot of these beats are still drill beats, but we’re using a lot of trap elements, too, to spice it up,’ she noted.
