McLaren driver Lando Norris has shed light on his missed opportunities on track this season. Norris has been in the best form of his career but has been unable to win more than a single race in over 14 F1 rounds.

Lando Norris‘s mistake-prone nature at crucial moments of a race has been a widespread topic of discussion this season. A potent example of his misjudgment was at the British GP, where he lost out to Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton.

The 24-year-old has since pinpointed that he would have lost in Silverstone even if he managed to come out ahead of Lewis Hamilton after pitting. Norris deemed Hamilton the fastest in Silverstone and claimed to be wary of his chances beforehand.

[At Silverstone] too, I lost the chance to fight for victory because I was much slower than Lewis Hamilton. As I said then, even if I had come on track [after the final pit stops] ahead of Lewis I still wouldn’t have won the race.Lando Norris told RacingNews365

Norris has been fairly critical of himself in the past while introspecting on his missed opportunities. He will now look to start afresh for McLaren after the summer break, hoping to amass more wins and podiums.

Andrea Stella shares positives for McLaren after first half of 2024

Andrea Stella claimed that the team’s MCL38 has been formidable in regions of high downforce around tracks. Stella also heaped praise on his team for successfully achieving the desired aerodynamic behavior within the car.

The Woking-based team trails Red Bull in the title race by only 42 points, the closest they have been to the title in over 10 years. The Papayas will now hope to keep the same intensity during the remainder of the campaign.
