Certainly, Android is a game-changer in the mobile device industry. Google’s mobile OS is one of the key factors that brought down some of the leading mobile phone brands in the world. Eventually, the fall of these brands gave way to other brands to rise and get a share of spotlight in the cutthroat mobile device arena.
This change is also felt in the local industry scene. Locally-based brands such as Cherry Mobile, MyPhone, and Starmobile now enjoy a fair share of popularity among consumers. Attempting to replicate the success of these brands, SKK, DTC, and BS Mobile are trying to catch up with the trend. Another player hopping on the bandwagon is Zh&K Mobile.
If you haven’t heard of the label, Zh&K Mobile, according to its website, is “a Philippine-based, high-tech enterprise, focusing on development, production, and sales of mobile phones for Filipinos.” Looking at the company’s portfolio, it mainly consists of feature phones and Wi-Fi phones. Zh&K’s Wi-Fi phones look like smartphones with modest specifications. It also has a tablet, the 7-inch Cloud Top 1, selling for PhP 2,899.
The biggest news regarding Zh&K Mobile is its choice of endorser, Manny Pacquiao. Some people may think of a disconnect: Zh&K Mobile is relatively new mobile device player, while Manny Pacquiao, apart from being a professional prizefighter, is also an actor, businessman, politician, and a recording artist. In any case, it could be a plus for Zh&K Mobile to be endorsed by the “Pambansang Kamao” who defeated Timothy Bradley earlier this month. Some tech-related labels that Pacquiao endorsed include HP, Nikon, and Sony.
Zh&K Mobile has dealers and service centers located in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. It also has a Facebook fan page and a Twitter account.
