Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas did not leave any stone unturned to give their daughter Malti Marie a memorable 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡day. The little one turned two recently. While Nick shared a glimpse of an Elmo-themed party organised for her on Wednesday, Priyanka revealed that she, Nick, and Madhu Chopra, Priyanka’s mother, visited a temple in Los Angeles to offer prayers on Malti’s 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡day. Taking to Instagram on Wednesday night, Priyanka shared photos not only from the party but also from the family’s visit to the temple.
In the photos, Priyanka was seen sporting a churidar while Nick was dressed in casual clothes. Little Malti was with them as well. One of the photos featured Malti standing with a massive garland placed on her. In another, she was sitting in Nick’s lap as they offered prayers.
The post got much love from her friends and fans. Many took to the comments section to shower the family with love.
Priyanka and Nick welcomed Malti through surrogacy. She was 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 as a premature 𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑦 and was kept in the NICU for 100 days. In an interview with Vogue, Priyanka confessed she “didn’t know if she (Malti) would make it or not.”
“I was in the OR [operating room] when she came out. She was so small, smaller than my hand,” she said before adding, “We spent every single day with her on my chest, on my husband’s chest.”
Priyanka added that she opted for surrogacy because she had a ‘medical complication’. “This was a necessary step, and I’m so grateful I was in a position where I could do this. Our surrogate was so generous, kind, lovely and funny, and she took care of this precious gift for us for six months,” she said.
