Elon Musk: Almost 1,000 Tesla Cybertrucks gather at Giga Texas

Tesla has a penchant for making the impossible feel late. This definitely seems to the case with the Tesla Cybertruck, which, due to its delay, was plagued over the years with allegations that it was nothing but vaporware. A recent image from Giga Texas shows that the facility is now pumping out a huge number of said vaporware, so much so that almost 1,000 Cybertrucks could be seen the west outbound lot, ready to be transported.

Recent footage of Giga Texas’ current activities was shared on YouTube by longtime Tesla watcher Joe Tegtmeyer, who has been observing the progress of the facility since its earliest days. As per the drone operator, a growing number of Tesla Cybertrucks are now being produced in the Giga Texas complex. This suggests that the production ramp of the all-electric pickup truck is well underway.

Apart from the fact that nearly 1,000 Cybertrucks were spotted by the drone operator at Giga Texas’ west outbound lot, some of the vehicles were also being transported from the facility in a rather interesting manner. Unlike most Cybertrucks, which are typically picked up by car carrier trailers, Tegtmeyer observed that some Cybertrucks were being loaded onto covered trailers. The reasons behind this have not been explained by Tesla as of yet.

Similar to previous Giga Texas flyovers, the drone operator’s recent video suggests that Tesla’s Austin-based vehicle production facility is abuzz with activity. This was highlighted by several construction projects that are currently underway in the Giga Texas complex, including a Boring Company tunnel that’s still being built on the site.

The ongoing ramp of the Cybertruck at Giga Texas suggests that Tesla is getting better at producing the all-electric pickup truck. This bodes well for the vehicle, as demand for the Cybertruck would likely see a rise as soon as the Foundation Series, which adds a $20,000 premium to the base cost of the Cybertruck All Wheel Drive (AWD) and Tri-Motor Cyberbeast, officially ends its run. Expectations are high that the Foundation Series Cybertruck will be ending in the coming months.
