After much speculation about whether Taylor Swift would run in the 2024 US presidential election, the singer has chosen to support Vice President Kamala Harris – the new Democratic candidate, instead of Donald Trump .
In an Instagram post that quickly garnered millions of likes, the pop superstar addressed the AI-generated images that were created to make people think she supported Trump. The series of images scared the Cruel Summer singer , raising the risk of spreading misinformation.
The 34-year-old star decided to vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 presidential election because they fight for causes she cares about. The singer encouraged her followers to register to vote regardless of who they support.
Billionaire Elon Musk – who publicly supported Trump’s campaign – responded to Taylor’s statement.
“Well done Taylor. You win… I will give you a 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥 and protect your cats with my life,” the Tesla boss wrote on the X platform with more than 197 million followers.
Many people think Elon Musk mocked Taylor Swift when she reposted a magazine photo of her cuddling her cat Olivia Benson and calling herself “Cat Lady with No Children”.
Some say Musk’s promise to give Taylor “a 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥” while she was dating NFL star Travis Kelce was strange, given that the Tesla CEO has 12 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren and is in a custody battle with his ex-girlfriend Grimes.

Responding to a tweet from an X user, Musk wrote: “Oh my god, this election has really become an Elon vs Taylor Swift election.”
Most political pundits and market researchers say the race is too close to call. The endorsement of Taylor Swift, who can mobilize millions of Swifties through social media, was welcomed by vice presidential candidate Tim Walz, who called her post “eloquent.”
