Millionaire Kylie Jenner admits that her pregnancy in her twenties was a life-changing moment for her. Although she was happy to be a mother, the postpartum period left her with prolonged depression.
The reality TV star was just 20 when she became pregnant with her first 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥, Stormi, with ex Travis Scott. They went on to welcome their second 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥, a 𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑦 boy, in 2022.
However, Kylie Jenner ‘s first pregnancy was completely unplanned: “Stormi was not in my life plan. But it happened, but I knew I always wanted a 𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑦. I really wanted a 𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑦,” the 27-year-old beauty shared in an interview with British Vogue magazine .
Reflecting on her journey to motherhood , the youngest of the Kardashian family recalled: “I was only 20 when I got pregnant, 21 when I gave 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡. It was crazy. But looking back, I give myself more empathy and tolerance. Even though I was very young, I think my behavior was like a mother with 10 years of experience. I didn’t realize it right away. But it was a big change in life .”
“I had severe postpartum depression . Stormi lasted a year. Aire had a similar period. When I was pregnant , I wore sweatpants every day, I didn’t have time to figure out even the smallest things in life. I didn’t know how to dress. Then postpartum lasted a year. I had a hard time mentally as well as hormonal changes in my body,” Kylie revealed to Vogue .
Kylie shares the struggles of being a young mother, but she doesn’t let it get to her: “No matter what I’m going through, what the internet says about me or what I look like, I don’t let it affect me. I think they’re obsessed with me and it’s taught me to take life a little easier. I’m like, ‘Okay, I have these beautiful kids at home and they think I’m the most perfect person in the world . So I don’t need any other validation from the outside.'”
“I feel like people don’t show me or women in general enough empathy. I saw the picture online and people accused me of doing drugs or something. I’ve lost weight and my current weight is pretty ideal, but people still put together pictures of me before and after giving 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡 to make fun of me. I wonder: ‘Have people forgotten that I’ve had two 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren?’
