Phoebe Gates – the youngest daughter of billionaire Bill Gates – revealed that her friends cut ties with her because of some false vaccine rumors related to her father.
The youngest daughter of the Microsoft founder shocked everyone when she revealed this in the documentary What’s Next? The Future With Bill Gates, which aired on September 18. When discussing the spread of false information, Bill Gates asked his daughter if she had heard “conspiracy theories” related to him, including the belief that Covid-19 was an excuse for him to put microchips in vaccines to track people.
“All the time,” Phoebe replied. “You guys cut me off because of these vaccine rumors,” the 22-year-old added. The youngest daughter of the tech billionaire said she was worried about her ability to effectively communicate accurate health information when misinformation was spreading online.
“Dad needs to learn more because he’s still naive enough to think that digital media can be a force that brings us together, to have a rational debate,” the 68-year-old billionaire said. Phoebe said her dad doesn’t realize that truth and logic aren’t as important to people on social media as finding an outlet in everyday life.
Billionaire Bill Gates’ youngest daughter said she believes these conspiracy theories are rooted in fear. Phoebe explained that during the Covid-19 lockdown, no one knew who or what to believe.
In the documentary, the Microsoft founders also discuss women’s reproductive rights and gender equality – two topics Phobe is passionate about. The beauty recently graduated from Stanford University with a degree in humanities. The young girl is passionate about fashion, co-founded her own fashion platform called Phia, and is actively involved in social activities.
Phoebe is the youngest of three 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren of billionaire Bill Gates and his ex-wife Melinda. Their eldest daughter – Jennifer – is married and a mother while son Rory is quiet.
