Watch moment 2 women are kicked off US flight for ‘wearing crop tops after male flight attendant demanded they cover-up’

THIS is the moment two women are allegedly kicked off a flight for wearing crop tops onboard – as fellow passengers jump to their defence.

A male flight attendant told the outraged pair to “cover up” on the flight from Los Angeles to New Orleans – sparking outrage.

Teresa Araujo, 34, was travelling with her pal Tara to celebrate a friend’s 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡day on a Spirit Airlines plane on 4 October.

But the two never left on the US flight after allegedly getting kicked off by a male flight attendant who claimed they could not wear crop tops.

Teresa and Tara claim they had settled into their seats when suddenly they were approached by a flight attendant who demanded they “cover up”.

The women, who were wearing jeans and crop tops as well as sweaters over the top, said they were confused by the request – especially as the plane was hot, Teresa claims.

Outraged Teresa said in a social media post: “My friend and I had a terrible experience on Friday on the flight 387 from Lax to New Orleans with @spiritairlines

“We were harassed by a male flight attendant who told us to ‘cover up’ because we were wearing crop tops.”

Teresa says she initially put her sweater back on but it was so hot that she had to take it off again.

At that point, the flight attendant returned and allegedly demanded: “Put your coat on, I won’t ask you another time”.

Teresa claims the only question she asked was whether she could see the airline’s dress code.

But the incident soon escalated when the flight attendant allegedly threatened: “You’ll see what’s going to happen!”

Despite the plane already on the runway, the aircraft got turned around to drop Teresa and Tara off back at the boarding gate.

A female supervisor then arrived and told the women that had to leave the plane since the attendant in question insisted on it.

Teresa added: “Other passengers joined in and tried defending us, but ultimately, a supervisor talked to us and told [us] either we would leave the flight or she would bring [in] the police.”

She filmed the moment they were confronted by the supervisor, who asked them not to record.

Other passengers can be heard chiming in to intervene on the women’s part but the supervisor is adamant that they have to get off.

Another clip shows the women in visible disbelief as they’re escorted off the plane.

Teresa also shared another video that showed how she and Tara were dressed that day.

The travel blogger says was reassured that she’d be placed on another flight to New Orleans – but this allegedly never happened, leaving her in tears.

Teresa said: “It turned out to be all a lie, and later at the airport they explained to us that when someone is kicked off a plane, there is no refund or assignment to another flight.

“The police themselves said that we were right, that we shouldn’t have left the plane, that we should have waited for them to arrive and that we should sue the company.”

She ended up having to pay another £764 for a second ticket, this time with Delta Airlines, and wait around five hours at Los Angeles airport.

Teresa also defended that neither she nor her friend “said anything to the flight attendant” to provoke him and had not “drunk alcohol”.

The outraged passenger also claims that she and at least 16 people who were on the flight to New Orleans filed complaints against Spirit Airlines about what happened.

A Spirit Airlines spokesperson said: “Our Contract of Carriage, a document all Guests agree to upon making a reservation with us, includes certain clothing standards for all Guests traveling with us.

“We are investigating the matter, and we are in contact with the Guests about their experience.”
