Wearing the Los Angeles Lakers jersey at Media Day, LeBron James took another step towards realizing his dream with his son Bronny.

After nearly 20 years of being father and son, LeBron James and his son Bronny (official name LeBron James Jr.) will be teammates for the first time.

Last summer, the Los Angeles Lakers selected Bronny James with the 55th pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, then signed a 4-year contract with the young player 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 in 2004.

This morning (October 1) Vietnam time, James and his father had their official debut when they attended the Los Angeles Lakers’ Media Day, bringing the first images of LeBron James and LeBron James Jr. in the same jersey.

For LeBron, it was a moment that made a longtime dream come true. Both wore the official uniform of the same NBA team, while LeBron James wore the number 23 and Bronny James chose the number 9.

“It’s really touching. I don’t know what to say. I’m fine when people talk about me, but whenever I hear questions about my son, about us playing together, I always fall into this state, almost unable to share anything.”

It was obvious that both LeBron and Bronny James were enjoying the moment. As a father, it is a source of great pride to see your son reach the highest level of athleticism and training.

For LeBron James, things are on a whole new level as he is his son’s teammate, sharing the field with him in one of the world’s top leagues.

“I can say I am very proud. I am proud of my son for reaching this point. He is no longer a 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥 but has become a man, ready for this world ,” LeBron shared.

Will LeBron and Bronny play together next season?

Wearing the Los Angeles Lakers jersey together at Media Day is probably just the beginning. The next thing that fans and James himself are looking forward to is the two of them playing together in an official NBA match.

Experts say this is a much more difficult goal to achieve, especially when Bronny James is not really ready for the harsh environment of the American professional basketball league, not to mention the terrible pressure of a team with a rich tradition like the LA Lakers.

It is possible that the team’s coaching staff, led by new head coach JJ Redick, will create conditions for LeBron and Bronny to play, “structuring” to create a special moment.

The purple and yellow team will enter the gathering and training period this week. After that, the Lakers will enter a series of 6 friendly matches before the new season (preseason).

Specific games  include the Timberwolves on October 5, the Suns on October 7, the Bucks on October 11, the Warriors on October 16, a rematch with the Suns on October 18, and the series ending with a rematch with the Warriors on October 19.
