The Los Angeles Dodgers won back-to-back contests in Games 3 and 4 of the NLCS after losing Game 2 to the New York Mets. On Thursday, Shohei Ohtani hit a monster home run. However, before Ohtani’s homer, there was a moment when Kike Hernandez hit a two-run home run and gave the Dodgers a 4-0 lead on the night.
Hernandez celebrated his hit while Shohei Ohtani was preparing for his at-bat at the time. That’s when both batters paid tribute to the famous Japanese anime Dragon Ball Z. They both imitated the popular power move, “Kamehameha”, so much so that the video uploaded by MLB on X/Twitter was edited with the Kamehameha effects added to it.

The Mets trail 3-1 in the National League Championship Series, with the Dodgers having outscored them 30-9 in four games so far. They will have to devise some new plans if they want to get back in the series and keep their World Series dream alive.
The Dodgers, meanwhile, need just one more win to secure their ticket to the World Series where they will face the winner of the ALCS between the New York Yankees and Cleveland Guardians.
Shohei Ohtani leads Dodgers to victory with home run
In Game 3, Ohtani was given crucial advice by Freddie Freeman which led to an eighth-inning home run that helped him cap another NLCS victory and give his team a 2-1 lead in the series. In Game 4, it seemed Ohtani was already prepared for whatever was coming and hit a home run during his first at-bat.
“Freddie talked to me to make sure that I joined the party earlier than later,” Ohtani revealed through his interpreter after winning Game 3 via AP News.”I was able to do that this time in my first at-bat,” he added.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts also spoke postgame about how much he’s been impressed with his players.
“I love the way that our guys haven’t let off the gas,” Roberts said. “We don’t want to give these guys any momentum.”
Mookie Betts was another star of the show tonight since he delivered a two-run homer with a two-run double in his total four hits throughout the game.
Ohtani and Co. could seal the series with a win in Game 5 at Citi Field on Friday.
