Woman has ‘worst flight of her life’ after being given wrong food on 15-hour journey

From Dubai to diarrhea — this plane ride devolved into a real s – – t show.

A TikTok star says she suffered explosive bowel movements on board a 15-hour flight from Dubai to Los Angeles after an alleged “pastry mix-up.”

Chloë Chapdelaine, 25, has celiac disease and made sure to select gluten-free meal options before boarding the Emirates aircraft on Monday.

But after demolishing half of a plain croissant, the Canadian content creator was purportedly informed that the treat contained gluten — a substance she hasn’t eaten in nine years.

Chapdelaine subsequently caused a stink — literally and figuratively — tearfully taking to TikTok from the bathroom of the plane.

She later told Kennedy News that she’ll be suffering the “mental repercussions” of what occurred for about two weeks.

In the viral TikTok, Chapdelaine is seen fighting back tears in the plane’s bathroom as she declares: “I do feel like celiac disease is not taken as seriously [as nut allergies] at times.”

“I do feel that people with food allergies or sensitivities deserve to exist safely and be taken seriously in their medical condition and that’s not always the case,” she adds.

The clip — which was viewed more than 1.4 million times — also included footage of the incriminating croissant.

“I am very highly sensitive and my celiac disease will react to a trace amount or cross-contamination,” Calgary-based Chapdelaine further explained in an interview with Kennedy News on Friday.

“To be told I had eaten half a non-gluten-free croissant, which is quite a large amount and bigger than what I have reacted to in the past, was really scary for me.”

The TikToker said she almost immediately felt the effects of the gluten consumption, saying she forced herself to throw up to try and expel the substance from her system.

“I went to the bathroom and made myself physically sick and was in there for about an hour throwing up, which was horrible,” she declared. “I knew if I didn’t do that it would cause my body a lot more damage.”

“I could feel the other symptoms starting straight away as well and it just got worse from there,” she added. “I started getting really bad stomach cramping, I got diarrhea, I felt nauseous and my skin started itching.”

While she safely made it back home, Chapdelaine says it’ll take her about 14 days to recover from the brain fog and the depression that eating the gluten has caused.

The content creator said Emirates flight attendants were sympathetic towards her, but that she has filed a formal complaint.

The company had not returned multiple requests for comment by Kennedy News before the time of publication.
