Warner Bros. distributed the film Dangerous Liaisons, which received seven Academy Award nominations and won in the categories of adapted screenplay, costume design, and production design. Christopher Hampton adapted the screenplay from his play Les Liaisons ,Dangereuses, originally released in 1985. With a budget of $14 million, the film went on to gross $34.7 million at the box office.
