It was previously reported that Damian Lillard’s preferred destination is the Miami Heat, and it seems as though the interest is mutual. In fact, NBA insider Ira Winderman revealed that the Heat are willing to give up any player besides Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler in a Lillard trade.
“Take anyone you want besides Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler… The Heat are all-in on this. This is their moment.”
It will be interesting to see what the final trade package for Damian Lillard will look like, but it is clear that the Heat are willing to risk everything at the chance to acquire him. There were some rumors that this deal might end up being a three-team deal as well, and we’ll have to wait for further developments on this front.
During the 2022-23 season, Damian Lillard averaged 32.2 PPG, 4.8 RPG, and 7.3 APG for the Portland Trail Blazers. It would be great to see him be on a contending team, and we’ll see what happens in the future.

“But in the early stages of this latest superstar saga, there are strong indications that Cronin won’t settle on a Heat deal if he doesn’t truly believe it’s what’s best for the franchise.”
Hopefully, though, we do see the Miami Heat and the Portland Trail Blazers figure out an agreement. The Trail Blazers owe it to Lillard to send him to a competitive team, and the Miami Heat are definitely a suitable candidate that fits the profile of a team that he would want to be on.
