How beautiful: 6-Yr-Old Who Lost His Mom Beautifully Honors Her In His Graduation Speech.

Kindergartener Jaxon Carter recently astounded teachers and parents with his moving graduation speech. He dedicated his words to his late mom, who had passed away in a fire. The 6-year-old also remembered to thank his other loved ones, like his grandparents. His father, Justin Carter, couldn’t have been more proud.

“His teacher asked him if he could give a little speech,” said Justin, according to Good Morning America. “The little speech turned into a full valedictory speech.”

Originally, Justin had been worried about how his son would handle the school year. New Dawn Academy was a new school for Jaxon, and the change had occurred suddenly. On top of that, both father and son were both grieving the loss of mom Taryn Marie Gainey.

As it turns out, Jaxon made the best of his kindergarten year. New Dawn principal Conrad R. Koch had nothing but good things to say about the student.

“I greet all the students in the morning and I always had a ‘good morning’ from him or a high-five. He came to school with a good attitude, ready to learn,” the principal said. “Whether it was the spelling bee, learning how to read, learning how to write his name, whatever the challenge was, Jaxon was able to meet it.”

Jaxon certainly put his all into his graduation speech, a four-minute long address which he recited from memory.

“When I started kindergarten at New Dawn Academy in August 2022, I was a little 5-year-old who had lost my beautiful mother a month before,” Jaxon opened. “I learned to play with other kids, read books, answer or ask questions like how or why, use correct grammar, and use my school tablet.”

He added, ” My kindergarten year helped me grow braver, smarter, kind-hearted, and more grateful.”

At the end of his speech, Jaxon honored his late mom with a few touching words. By then, many of his listeners were tearing up!

“I dedicate my speech, good grades, all school awards, and my kindergarten graduation to my beautiful mommy, who I will always love and miss so very much. I know she will always be with me in my heart,” he said.
