The Hero Dubai Desert Classic will return for its 36th edition in January – after Rory McIlroy clinched a historic fourth title at the event earlier this year

The Hero Dubai Desert Classic will return for it’s 36th edition between January 16 and 19 next year.

Rory McIlroy was crowned the victor at this year’s event, finishing the weekend one shot clear of Ryder Cup team-mate Adrian Meronk, to clinch his fourth title at the Emirates Golf Club in Dubai.

The prestigious tournament, which is also a Rolex Series event on the DP World Tour’s Race to Dubai series, will bring together a range of the world’s best stars, who will compete for a prize pool of £7million ($9m).

Spectators can enjoy daily entertainment over the course of the weekend, while they sit back and watch the golf in the sun.

Live music, a dedicated kids’ zone plus an array of great food and drinks will be available during the tournament.

Executive Tournament director of the Hero Dubai Classic, Simon Cor𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁, said: ‘We are thrilled to announce the dates of the 2025 Hero Dubai Desert Classic.

‘The excitement surrounding next year’s event continues to build rapidly, especially after Rory McIlroy’s historic fourth win at the 35th edition earlier this year.

‘We look forward to another spectacular tournament and can’t wait to welcome everyone to Dubai.’

Over the years, this tournament has also produced some memorable moments.

In fact, it was the scene of McIlroy’s first pro victory back in 2009.

The Hero Dubai Desert Classic will take place between January 16 to 19.

Patrons will be able to enter the tournament for free, with daily entertainment, including live music, on throughout the event

Golfers attending the event will compete for a share of the £7million prize pot available

Thomas Bjorn also delivered an epic round to hold off 15-time major champion Tiger Woods back in 2001 at the Emirates Course.

The tournament, which will once again offer free general admission tickets to spectators, is an instrumental event in helping improve the popularity of golf in the Middle East.
